Privacy Policy for RFA FMES service

Rwanda Forestry Administration (RFA) (hereinafter referred to as "we") collects users’ personal information in order to provide Forest Monitoring and Evaluation System (FMES) services. We are committed to protect personal information so that we can provide our users with even greater reliability and peace of mind. We will comply with Rwanda Personal Data Protection and Privacy Law (DPP Law) regarding personal information, and will handle personal information in an appropriate manner.

Acquisition of Personal Information

We will acquire personal information properly and without deception or other wrongful means. The following data will be used for communication between RFA and the information provider (hereinafter referred to as "user"), as well as for user management and monitoring. User data will not be disclosed to outside parties. The following basic information is stored in the register:

• First and last name
• Organization
• Position
• Phone number
• Email address
• ID card number
• User name and password

In addition, personal information may be collected to the extent necessary for the purpose of user consultation and inquiries.

Use of Personal Information

We will use personal information within the scope necessary to achieve the following purposes. If we use personal information for purposes not specified below, we will obtain the prior consent of the person concerned.

• To contact you in response to user consultation or inquiries.
• To use the information for statistical information that does not identify personal information.

Safety Management of Personal Information

We will take necessary and appropriate measures to prevent leakage, loss, or damage of personal information handled, and will manage personal information safely.

Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties

We will not provide personal information to any third party without obtaining the prior consent of the user, except as otherwise provided by Rwanda laws.

Disclosure and Correction of Personal Information

When we receive a request from a user to disclose his/her own personal information, we will promptly disclose the information. If we are unable to confirm the identity of the individual, we will not disclose the information. If there is an error in the content of personal information and the user requests correction, addition, or deletion of the information, we will promptly respond to the request after investigation. If we are unable to confirm the identity of the person making the request, we will not comply with the request.
